Michael Ingbar's 154th Surprise Birthday & Silent Movie & Dance Party
NOTICE: THIS MAY KEEP CHANGING, SO CHECK HERE BEFORE YOU LEAVE HOME ON FRIDAY!
This will be a very special party, which takes place almost immediately after a gallery opening (from 6-8) which you should come to and buy some art!! See opening information somewhere else or search for a "Walk in Central Park".
The Michael Ingbar Gallery is located in the Basement Suite of 568 Broadway (the Prince Building) on the Northeast corner of Broadway and Prince Street. Go into the office building entrance, sign in with security, and either take the stairs or elevator down one level.
This will be a surprise party for sure! Admission is one chocolate cake per couple or two bars of 85% to 100% dark chocolate bars per person, or a bottle of white wine or champagne.... (please put your names on the cakes and bars!!) If you come empty handed, you will either be asked to leave and buy something, or maybe volunteer for an hour as a "Talk Suppressor" or a door person, or maybe wear something funny.
Starting at 8:30 pm, we will have New York’s first ever "Silent Movie Party" where nobody is permitted to speak a word on the entire floor, during the entire party. If caught speaking or texting or writing down anything other than the 3 sentences you will write down on the back of business cards when you first arrive, you will be summoned by a "Talk Suppressor" to the "Penalty Box" and made to reach in and grab your written penalty, and perform something for us all, such as singing the National Anthem, from beginning to end, or maybe making a date with a stranger on the phone, or wearing a jockstrap on your head for the next hour.
There will be announced at various stages a "talking break", where you can talk your heads off!! Times TBA.
Also, some of you are aware of my unsuccessful run for the President of the United States, well I ain't giving up and the official announcement of my 2020 running mate will be made to the media and the public at this event. (I did beat Mickey Mouse in 2016 though!)
We will do some Blues and Argentine Tango dancing, with a free Tango lesson from the fabulous Rebecca Schulman around 9 pm and then a Blues lesson from the Queen of Micro-Blues, Mary Christensen. At around 11 pm Tybaldt Ulrich and Flour Courtney Evelyn will be giving us a treat with one of the sexiest Blues Dancing you've ever seen!
There will be only instrumental music being played and various videos of Charlie Chaplain and Buster Keaton.
Dress code is Black and White.
Pease feel free to invite your friends but tell them to respect the rules and bring some chocolate, cake or wine!
P.S. DID I MENTION THAT I NEED VOLUNTEERS AT THE FRONT DOOR AND TALK SUPPRESSORS?
